Ian has more than 20 years’ experience as a fundraising professional. As consultant he has served 50 nonprofits in education, human services, and others with an international scope. He's led fundraising and marketing teams for a health plan, an employment and training agency, and his first nonprofit job was with the UN Association in Toronto. Ian got his fundraising start by chairing an Amnesty International campaign in his native Canada. Twice honored by the City & County of San Francisco with designation of "Ian McCuaig Day", he is a published author and elected leader.
Ian likes sunshine, puppies, ice cream, Seinfeld, and jazz. He enjoys the Commonwealth Club, City Guides tours, and all things French. Friends describe him as calm, funny, and generous. Yoga dabbler, and member of the Dolphin Club and the Presidio YMCA. A fan of Marie Kondo's "Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up", the art of Jony Ive, and the Oxford comma. Watered large plastic plant at work for more than two months, thinking it was real.
